At 20m you are practically looking down the arrow at a deers hoofs when you want to hit the chest. The recurve bow is free as well but takes practice to use properly. All the bows have incredible knockdown power and leave huge holes for surprisingly fast bleed out as well. Both frontal and broadside shots on cow Elk from 40m had them smacking the ground so fast I could hear a thud. You will only get 40% integrity from Roe deer until you unlock the lighter bolt but it should be fine for Fallow. The only bolt you can initially get for it was wickedly effective on Elk and smaller game when I tried it out.
There is a free crossbow ( bolts and the scope cost in game money).
